Really nice and new (1 year old) hotel near the new Gurney Walk beach park. The executive apartments are well suited with a living room containing a nice, large couch, sitting chair, dining table and chairs, and full kitchen including a full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, convection oven, and a washer and dryer. The beds are firm but the pillows and duvet were very fluffy and full. The bathroom includes a free-standing tub and large shower with rain-head and wand options.

This hotel also features a nice infinity-edge pool with room to swim laps, a section with 4 water-massage chairs, as well as a shallow swim space with waterfalls.

There is also a cafe area, Italian restaurant and large buffet-style breakfast with options for rice dishes, noodle dishes, curry dishes, eggs, pastries, fresh juice, salad, and fruit.

Very nice hotel and recommend staying here!

We stayed at the Marriott Apartments, located in the same building as the Marriott Hotel, and overall had a comfortable stay. However, there are a few key things to be aware of before booking.

The apartments are spacious, featuring a separate bedroom and living room, making them feel more like a home than a hotel room. They are also located on higher floors than the hotel rooms, offering even better city and ocean views. The washer and dryer are a great convenience for longer stays, and guests have full access to the hotel’s pool and gym, which are well-maintained and enjoyable.

One thing to note for Marriott Platinum and Titanium members—these apartments do not include M Club Lounge access, even though the hotel has an executive lounge on-site. This isn’t a perk of the apartments, so if lounge access is important to you, it’s something to keep in mind.

Another consideration is that housekeeping is only provided once for a three-night stay, so if you prefer daily cleaning, it’s best to confirm the policy before booking.

One major downside is the hard beds. I’ve found that most beds in Malaysia tend to be quite firm, and these were no exception. I found myself rolling over multiple times a night, as my arms would fall asleep due to the firmness—something to keep in mind if you prefer softer mattresses.

For dining, the hotel has several great restaurant options, including an excellent Italian restaurant. There’s also a bakery/café downstairs with delicious baked goods, though we found the sandwiches to be underwhelming.

Overall, the Marriott Apartments offer a spacious and well-equipped stay with great views and useful amenities. However, limited housekeeping, firm beds, and no M Club access (for those who typically receive it) are important factors to consider when booking.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartments Penang for four weeks, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect.

The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. The hotel’s facilities were equally impressive. The breakfast crew and the food is first class! This is a testament to Mr Prakash and his team.

What truly stood out was the exceptional service. All staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Erda who looks after the fitness center was super friendly and helpful!

Overall, Marriott Penang exceeded all our expectations. Whether you’re traveling for leisure or business, this hotel is an excellent choice. I look forward to staying here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and outstanding service.

Staff at M Club is definitely top tier. Super professional, very caring, and friendly.

The room itself, the cleaning team does a great job but the towels has this dirty smell when they are wet, the pillows themselves smell because I saw the cleaners replacing the pillow covers so it has to be the actual pillow, the water in the room is some random branded water and it taste like chemicals! But otherwise all is well.

A whole brand new and comfortable apartment. Overall it’s really nice. There are only some minor details that can be improved.

For instance, door of the second room will be affected and vibrates, when the door of the toilet right next to it opens. Probably some sound insulation airtight strips should do the trick. Air conditioner temperature has to be set as low as 21-22C in order to make it work.
The rest are perfect. Some staff might be new but they are all being helpful. Seaview is great, so is the pool. Breakfast is awesome, with some local delicacy is just the icing on the cake! Would love to stay again in the future! 🥰
