I stayed at Banyan Residence for 5 days and 4 nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience.
**What I liked:**
– The location is unbeatable—less than 200 meters from Pavilion shopping mall, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping.
– There’s no phone in the room, but all communication is handled via WhatsApp. The customer service team is very responsive, which made things seamless.
– Both the customer service and room service teams were polite and professional throughout my stay.
– The room was well-equipped with a washing machine and stove, allowing me to pack light and manage laundry easily during my trip.
**What could be improved:**
– There was an issue with the lift access card system for two nights of my stay.
Every time I needed to go to the gym,
I had to go down to the lobby, get the security guard to grant access to the facility floor,
then have another guard open the gym room.
After my workout, I had to repeat the process to get back to my room.
It was inconvenient and time-consuming.
The issue took > 48 hours to be sorted out is fairly disappointing and inefficient for a stay costs > RM 600/night.
Overall, Banyan Residence is a great choice for its location and facilities, but I hope they resolve the access card issue to make the guest experience even smoother.
Location and the staffs are super, the staffs are very nice and friendly. Room is well equipped if upgrade the washing machine a little friendly user will be perfect.
Was meant to stay here for a week but left after 6 hours. The service here is awful! Pictures are not honest, doesn’t look anything like what’s shown.
We was given 3 bottles of “water” on arrival and after a 17hr flight all we wanted was to rest but NO! My nephew took one of the “water” bottles and took a sip only to realise it wasn’t water, it was some unknown thick liquid (possibly bleach) that looked exactly like water, packaged in the same bottles as the hotels water bottles.
My nephew threw up multiple times after consuming this. I called management and asked them to explain to which they could not. I showed them the bottles and told them to tell me “what are these?” Their response was that they were all water bottles. I had to show them the difference between the regular water bottles and this unknown liquid. They were unapologetic which really frustrated me. Instead they tried to blame us! Ridiculous people to be honest. No concern for my nephews health and showed no effort to try and resolve the situation.
I highly DO NOT recommend this place!
I have reported this issue to a tourism inspection team and hopefully they will follow this incident up!
Here’s a list of the many reasons why I would NOT recommend staying at the Banyan Signature Residence/Apartments
1. Reception – Is on Level 16 of the building and the only way to access Reception is to call them on WhatsApp and they will come down to ground floor to greet you! This is the only time that you are likely to have any personal contact. After that, there is no access to Level 16 – Reception and all communication has to be via WhatsApp and that’s not the end of this problem. You will only be given one access key to your room “due to management rules” so if you are 2 or more guests the second and third guest will have to use WhatsApp to contact Reception to let them into the building and YOUR ROOM. Totally impractical.
2. Communication – communicating via WhatsApp is fine by me but when the recipient has very poor or no understanding of the English language this leads to lots of confusion and frustration and getting what you need is very difficult if not impossible. I have evidence of this in my extensive WhatsApp conversations with Banyan Signatures.
3. The apartment is totally lacking in facilities such as a pan or frypan for your stove, a container for the microwave or a cloth to dry your dishes (normal provisions in an apartment with kitchen).
4. There are no instructions for the electric induction cooktop and washing machine. The cooktop is being induction will only work with special pans. When we asked for a frypan, yes you guessed it, it was the wrong pan and after spending an hour trying to figure out why the cooktop would not work (no instructions provided) we finally realised that the pan was at fault, not the cooktop.
5. Do you intend to use the washing machine? Then be prepared to wait. The drying cycle is either 15 minutes (useless) or 3 hours (locked and no access to clothes during this period plus a long period after while it cools down). Of course if you try to open the dryer during a cycle then you will also be locked out for at least 30min before removing your clothes.
6. There is no satellite TV so make sure that you have membership to Netflix and the like and that you know how to cast to the TV.
7. The eco friendly lights above the kitchen benchtop are annoying. They switch on and off automatically when detecting movement (no manual override) so don’t stop moving or you will be working in the dark! Here’s a tip, there is a light in the overhead cooktop extractor, the on/off switch is hidden on top of the extractor so you will need a stool to locate unless you happen to be a tall person!
8. Finally, if you need a late checkout (after 12 noon) YOU WILL BE CHARGED. I asked for a 1pm checkout and was denied due to back to back bookings.
I have given a 1 star rating because once you have endured all of the above inconveniences you will enjoy a nice comfortable apartment. Also, the ladies on Reception were very helpful on arrival but sadly they were never to be seen again during our stay.
To the Operator of this business (OPUS HOSPITALITY) – it’s time to improve your game or your business could go down the drain. I’ve travelled a lot and this was a bad experience.
Rode to the hotel in our motorcycle and had a designated indoor carpark. Looks like all occupants have designated indoor carpark space so that was good. The hotel room itself was clean, aircon and water pressure in toilet was good. There was also a washing machine in the room with detergent provided. There was a stove but we didn’t have any cooking utensils in our room. Link bridge to Pavilion accessible through the next building and it was super convenient. Really quiet and peaceful too along corridors. Enjoyed it!
