We stayed for 4 nights at Citadines Connect and can 100% recommend to stay here! It’s super new, the staff is super friendly. Beds are super comfy.
A swimming pool and gym are also here.
24/7 reception, tea and coffee in the lobby, filtered water in the hall way accessible. There is no breakfast possible, and the room is a bit small are something to mentioned. No breakfast is not a problem there is food everywhere in Penang.
We also got new towels every day even though we didn’t put it on the floor. Therefore we put sometimes “do not disturb” on our door. This feels super nice but not needed at all to have new towels every day.
To the city center it’s about a 20 min walk, you can also rent bikes there or get a grab for ~ 7-10 RM if needed.
Great Stay in Citadines Connect Cecil!
I recently stayed at this lovely new hotel in Georgetown and had an excellent experience. The hotel is well-kept with a pleasant aroma in every corner, creating a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. Rooms were spacious with a big, comfortable bed, perfect for a relaxing night’s sleep. The 24-hour coffee machine and biscuits grab and go was a nice touch, allowing us to grab a cup whenever we wanted. The indoor pool was a great way to unwind, and the friendly staff were always eager to help, making our stay even more enjoyable.
However, parking could be improved. Although it’s public parking, having a dedicated area for guests would be more convenient. Additionally, having CCTV in the parking area outside the hotel would offer added security.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place to stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Georgetown!
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room had a good amount of amenities for washing up. Minimal room space but well used and smart use of space for storage with plenty of drawers and hangers.
A handy ironing board & iron was provided. There was a shower cap, ear buds & toothbrush & toothpaste provided. The water pressure the bidet and shower was perfect with hot water available. The bathroom mirrors were very nice including the vanity mirror.
Room & bathroom lighting was very nice. The bathroom itself was very neat and clean. The AC worked well providing ice cold cooling. Plenty of power sockets around the room.
Easy to Grab taxis from outside the hotel and possible to walk Into the town in about 10-20 minutes if desired.
Coffee & biscuits are provided guests with a nice lounge area guests to relax.
The hotel were wonderful allowing me to check in early as well as providing facilities to store my suitcase.
The swimming pool looks nice with additional towels being provided. However I didn’t get a chance to use it.
To nit pick, the room lacked a master switch on the bedside to power off all the room lights
The gym is small and lacks any resistance training kit.
Great service from all the staff and we felt well taken care of throughout the stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, and always prompt with service. We generally liked the location too, with a hawker nearby that we gladly ate at every morning, but there’s a lack of amenities at night. Eg one night i was really craving and ice cream, but there was absolutely no convenience store nearby. Perhaps Citadines might consider having a vending machine or selling some snacks? 🙂 otherwise, grabfood was also my best friend for late night munchies.
Some minor points other guests might want to take note of though:
– there were no power points near any mirrors, so it was pretty challenging to curl my hair.
– we got a first floor room and keeping the curtains open meant that anyone walking past could look in.
– there’s no security feature before accessing hotel rooms for 1st floor rooms which means anyone who got past reception could access the outside of your hotel door.
Despite these minor observations, we really enjoyed our stay, and still think citadines is a good value for money hotel. I also loved the cosy lounge! However, if you are quite particular about the thoughtfulness of luxury hotels, some aspects might bother you.
We stayed for 3N4D and really enjoyed our stay.. the staff are helpful and one person stands out is Fareez of the front reception desk.. checkin was smooth and fast as well as checking out. Room was cozy and homely. Will definitely come again.
