  1. The hotel has a good place to visiting Penang and the personal was available for us during our stay.
the bad part is : the breakfast was very good because at 9 am you have nothing all plates are empty. You have to request extra food…
So the staffers are very nice.
Also, you can ear all discussions on the street from your rooms…

  2. I recently stayed at Citadines for the first time and found the location quite convenient, with plenty of dining options within walking distance. I was in Block B, just a minute or two from the main block.

I want to highlight the excellent service I received. Initially, I was given the wrong room type. When I called the front desk, the staff promptly arranged for someone to show me the correct room and helped me move my luggage. Upon returning to the front desk, they quickly exchanged my room card and apologized for the inconvenience.

Additionally, I appreciated the complimentary coffee available in the reception area. However, please note that the parking fee is charged daily. So, if you stay for two days and one night, you’ll have to pay for two days of parking. The parking spots are limited and outdoors.

One delightful surprise was discovering a cat shelter in the parking area, complete with clean water and food, which I truly appreciated.

  3. Great First Experience at Citadines in Penang

It was my first time bringing my family to Penang, and after reading good reviews online, I decided to give Citadines a try, although I still had some doubts initially. However, my experience turned out to be fantastic!

The hotel has a charming heritage, vintage, and classy look that immediately gave me a good feeling upon entering. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which is always a priority for family trips.

The hotel is thoughtfully divided into two blocks—one tailored for families with kids, and the other more suited for executives and honeymooners. I found this arrangement practical and considerate.

The location is another big plus, surrounded by several shopping malls just a 10-minute walk away, making it convenient for dining and leisure. Lastly, the hotel’s pricing is very economical, offering great value for the experience provided.

I highly recommend Citadines in Penang for families, couples, or even solo travelers looking for comfort, class, and convenience at an affordable rate.

  4. Truly gorgeous heritage building, located in a good area with plenty of food options ranging from top restaurants to Michelin starred hawker stalls.

Very comfortable and clean rooms with excellent air con and we were super happy to see that this hotel has ditched plastic bottles in favour of water filters on each floor and lovely glass jugs. On that alone book here and do your bit for the planet!!

But the breakfast for us was the star of the show. What a great range of options, including western and local dishes, fruits, cereals, decent coffee and the option to sit either outside or in the very tasteful restaurant. Seriously good!!

The pools are small and sadly don’t have very scenic views – but that’s down to the location. The gym is also quite small and the air con wasn’t great in the b block one. However overall I would definitely recommend.

  5. I had a pleasant stay at Citadines Penang Hotel. Although they don’t serve breakfast, the rates (304 rm for 1 night) are very reasonable given the current economy. The room and facilities were clean, and I appreciated their sustainable touches, like the wooden room keys – very impressive! I was also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which was handled effortlessly by the staff. However, I do feel they would benefit from offering a breakfast option, and the swimming pool could use more frequent cleaning, as it wasn’t as tidy as expected. Overall, a nice experience with just a couple of areas for improvement.
