Very good location for exploring George Town on foot, very close to bars and restaurants.
The room was modern ,clean and comfortable, being high up we were away from any noise at street level.
Very good breakfast buffet , something for everyone and the service was excellent, there were plenty of staff clearing tables and replenishing the buffet. The lady at the front desk at the breakfast room was particularly friendly and welcoming and helped us with the local breakfast choices when we weren’t sure what to choose.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cititel Hotel in Penang, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The check-in process was quick and easy, and we were welcomed with a refreshing drink—such a nice touch! The staff were all friendly and attentive, with special mention to Bani, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The room itself was great—comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, providing everything a family might need. Cititel also offers a themed room for families with kids, which I thought was a wonderful feature. It’s the perfect option for families looking for a fun and convenient stay.

The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a good variety of items to choose from. While the selection was somewhat limited, the quality made up for it. Overall, I highly recommend Cititel Hotel for families visiting Penang. With its great location, excellent service, and family-friendly amenities, it’s a solid choice for both short and extended stays.

Had the worst experience ever when I stayed for 1 night in Jan 2025. They had renovation done at a different floor all day long and it was super noisy even the renovation was at a different floor. After they stopped work, the electricity started to have problem where it just cut off for 20-30 secs but continuously every 1-3 hours from the afternoon until the next day when I wanted to check out. I stayed alone and the whole room went dark at night and it happened a few times at night! I would have been an excellent stay if not for the situation I encountered. The room had amazing view of the sea. The staffs were polite, friendly and welcoming.

I also found out the amount charged to my cc was a different amount than the amount they stated in the booking confirmation. Payment receipt was not provided at the hotel. The customer service was however excellent as they got back to me within hours of my complain explaining the charges. They should be clearer about the charges as the booking confirmation wasn’t detailed.

Been the Penang a few times but first time at Cititel. Cititel is the best value added hotel! Rooms are clean and spacious and very comfortable. The views are great from
any of the 3 rooms we booked. It’s located within walking distance from all the nice food! There’s free flow cold drinks in the lobby for guests! Nutmeg, lemon and green tea! Very friendly service from their staff too particularly Mr Zabidi.

Great location, close to everything. We stayed 6 days over the Chinese new year. There can be early morning prayer from the loudspeaker in the mosque across the street, that’s the only downside.
