We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights and had an overall pleasant experience. Although we checked in a bit late at around 7 PM, the process was smooth and hassle-free. However, we later noticed from online reviews that we were supposed to receive welcome cookies, which we didn’t initially get. After highlighting this to the staff later that night, they promptly delivered the cookies to our room, demonstrating their attentiveness to guest feedback.
The hotel’s facilities were convenient and enjoyable, with easy access to the pool and gym. Our room was spacious and perfect for our family, including our older children, offering plenty of comfort for everyone. The staff were consistently helpful and responsive to all our requests, adding to the positive experience.
While the overall facilities were impressive, it would have been helpful if the staff at check-in provided a brief overview of the hotel’s amenities and services. Additionally, traffic leading to the hotel can be heavy, particularly during school holidays or festive seasons, so guests should plan their travel times accordingly.
One notable downside was the access to the beach across the road. The current path leads through the narrow access at the back of old food stall that was closed at that time, making it feel unsafe and unappealing. We would strongly recommend avoiding this route, especially if you are alone. It would greatly enhance the guest experience if the hotel could improve the beach access to make it cleaner and more secure.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel maintained high standards of cleanliness, making it a solid choice for families seeking comfort, convenience, and value for money.
I recently stayed at this hotel for a one-night getaway in Batu Ferringhi and would like to share my experience.
Location & Arrival
The hotel is situated along the main road from Georgetown to Batu Ferringhi, but the signage could be more prominent, as we initially missed the entrance. Upon arrival, parking was available but required an RM 3 fee, which was unexpected as many hotels offer complimentary parking for guests. Additionally, accessibility could be improved, as we had to walk down a flight of stairs from the parking area to the lobby, making it less convenient for those with strollers, luggage, or mobility challenges.
Check-In Experience
Check-in took significantly longer than expected, as a dispute involving another guest delayed the process for nearly 30 minutes. While I understand that such situations can arise, it would have been more efficient to handle the matter separately at a dedicated counter to avoid prolonged delays for other guests.
Room & Amenities
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, the lighting arrangement did not quite suit our preference, and the television channels were not in a logical sequence, with some expected channels unavailable. Additionally, essential bathroom amenities (such as razors, toothbrushes, and toothpaste) were only provided upon request, which could have been communicated more clearly in advance.
Dining Experience
Breakfast service was one of the areas where we felt improvement was needed. Despite being a party of three, we were seated at a small two-person table, and when we requested a larger table, the request was denied. However, we later noticed that other guests were allowed to occupy much larger tables with fewer people, which felt inconsistent. A more structured seating arrangement and better consideration for guest comfort would enhance the dining experience.
Beach Access
The bridge leading to the beach was a convenient feature, but the pathway to the beach was covered with huge stones, making it difficult to walk pass or navigate. It was also unclear where the designated entry point to the beach was, leading us to walk along the main road to access the public beach area. Clearer signage or guidance from hotel staff would be helpful for first-time visitors.
Other Facilities & Service
In the evening, we tried some cakes and pastries from the ground-floor café but found them to be quite dry and stale, which was disappointing. Additionally, the convenience store within the hotel closed quite early at 6 PM, limiting options for guests who might need essentials later in the evening.
While this particular stay was not ideal for us, I hope the hotel takes these points into consideration to enhance its hospitality and service standards for future guests.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good pool area and the beds were very comfy. There was a slight issue with our check in when we arrived early and checked in but when we went to the room the sofa bed hadn’t been set up. This was sorted in 20 mins though. There was a damp smell in the room from the air conditioning unit. The location was okay, taxis were needed to get to the main beach area where all the restaurants are. The cafe downstairs was great and open till midnight. The cookies at check in were 💙
Recently, I stayed at this property for 1 night. Here are my opinions about this hotel:
A. Pros
1. The check-in process was smooth and easy. I arrived at the hotel around 12:30 PM, and the receptionist informed me that there were available rooms ready for me. Instead of checking in at 3:00 PM, I was allowed to check in early at 12:30 PM.
2. All the staff were super friendly.
3. Everything in this hotel smelled wonderful.
4. The atmosphere of the hotel was so pleasant.
5. The gym was equipped with modern equipment, and the sea view was breathtaking.
6. Hilton’s signature cookies tasted incredible. 🥹
B. Cons
1. While inside the room, I could still hear people walking outside and closing their doors.
2. The breakfast selection was limited. During my weekend stay, the breakfast restaurant was packed with people.

I will definitely come again!
My stay at Hilton Penang was a delightful experience overall. Upon check-in, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a spacious suite, which was impeccably clean and comfortable. A standout touch was the signature cookies offered as a welcome amenity – a small yet memorable gesture that added warmth to the experience.
The hotel’s pool was impressively large and well-maintained, providing a relaxing spot to unwind. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit different tastes. However, the service at the breakfast restaurant could use improvement, as some staff members lacked friendliness and attentiveness, which slightly dampened the otherwise pleasant experience.
Overall, Hilton Penang offers excellent amenities and value, with minor service hiccups that, if addressed, could elevate the stay to perfection.
