Newly opened, I gave it a try and stayed for 2 nights. Overall, it is good. I highly recommend staying at the hotel, but not for breakfast.
Below is my personal experience, feedback, and review.
Hotel: Modern and very clean.
Room check-in: Smooth, reception staff is friendly and helpful.
Carpark: Too small and narrow. It is inconvenient if you bring luggage from the car park, as you need to climb stairs to the hotel lift.
Room:
1. Comfortable bed with soft and firm pillows.
2. The water dispenser is easy to use, able to dispense room temperature and hot water.
3. Bathroom drain is too slow, which causes water overflow when bathing, so you have to manually shift the drain cover to the side to allow the water to drain smoothly.
Location: Not very convenient, about a 6 to 7-minute walk to Bangsar train station.
Breakfast:
I would like to provide feedback on the 2 days of breakfast, which were a bad experience. Personally, I do not recommend the breakfast, as it was only so-so.
1. Over the two days, most of the staff were seen chit-chatting at the entrance counter and had no time to attend to guests.
2. Not professional – improper table settings. Many tables did not have paper napkins, and some tables were missing spoons/forks. You had to grab them from other tables. Table settings are important and should not be neglected, even during non-peak periods.
3. On the second day, there were no staff at the counter. A chef asked one of the waiters (who was untrained) to help us check in. Later, I saw a few people in coats entering for breakfast (not sure if they were managers). Some of the staff only then began putting on a performance in front of the guests.
I am a diamond member and really pleased with IHG Bangsar. Me and my wife had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Every staff made efforts to make your stay comfortable. Felt the room structure are well thought as its one of very few IHG hotel where there is socket at dressing table for convenient of blowing dry hair, good size, sufficient mirrors, bed and pillow comfortable. Hair dryer is powerful too. Good quality of food for breakfast. One thing that requires improvement would be the water pressure. Its seems low. Duty manager, Adam made every effort to honor all the benefits to diamond member despite first time at the hotel. Really hope to see all IHG has this kind of hospitality especially being a Diamond member for close to 10 years.
I was excited because it was a newly opened hotel, and my regular Holiday Inn brand. But no, the room was not properly cleaned; some part of the hotel looked unfinished, the elevator glass was dirty and dusty, and I hated the water dispenser in the room. I have stayed in other hotels with water dispensers before; they were not this complicated. The only good thing was the staff was all very helpful and friendly

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to receive an upgrade despite holding status, as it was New Year’s and the hotel was fully booked. While this was a little disappointing, I can understand given the busy holiday period. That said, the hotel never felt crowded or overwhelming. The atmosphere remained calm, and the excellent service continued without any compromises.
Another major highlight is the location. The hotel is conveniently situated just a short 5-minute walk from public transport, making it incredibly easy to get around and explore Kuala Lumpur. Whether heading to the city center or other attractions, the connectivity is a big plus for anyone staying her, but.i got the impression most people dont use this and just get a grab.
Overall, despite the lack of an upgrade, I had a fantastic experience at Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar. The combination of great service, comfortable rooms, and convenient location makes it a hotel I’d happily return to in the future. Highly recommended!
The hotel is newly opened, having commenced operations just two months ago. The staff is friendly and strives to accommodate guests’ needs. However, the breakfast selection could be improved by offering more variety, including fresh fruit juice, coconut water, honey, dragon fruit, and passion fruit. One drawback is that alcohol is not available as part of room service, and the overall selection is limited. Nevertheless, the hotel is well-located and conveniently close to malls via Grab.
