  1. I booked 4 nights and was upgraded to a Suite for the last 2 nights as an Accor Plus Platinum member. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection of food. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nice beach just by the hotel with various water activities available for booking. This is my 3rd stay here and will definitely come back again in the future.

  2. Concern Regarding Room Amenities & Service
    Date : 19 FEB 2025

    I just checked into my room and noticed that there is no laundry paper available. That was fine—I called the front desk to request one. However, I then realized that there was also no pen, no notepad, and even the tissue paper had to be taken from the bathroom.

    I attempted to call the front desk three times, but no one picked up. I also tried calling housekeeping twice, yet still, no one answered. This lack of responsiveness is quite disappointing.

    I strongly believe that ensuring a quality guest experience should be a priority for the hotel. Proper staff training and attentiveness are essential to maintaining good service standards. I hope this issue can be addressed promptly.

  3. Good value hotel on a decent beach. Staff was friendly. Hotel was pretty busy especially at breakfast and restocking of food was slow. Room was comfortable and everything worked well. Location is decent, 30-minutes by bus to centre of Georgetown. The small hotel beach is ok and sea is fairly clean. Hotel pool is decent, it’s good value for money.

  4. My stay at the Mercure Beach Penang Hotel was absolutely delightful. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s hospitality stood out—especially the friendly and helpful guards who made finding parking so easy and stress-free. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, offering a breathtaking beach view that made the stay even more special.

    The beach itself was pristine, clean, and perfect for a morning stroll or relaxing by the waves. The combination of great service, a peaceful atmosphere, and excellent beach access made this an unforgettable getaway. I highly recommend the Mercure Beach Penang Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Penang.

  5. Here are a few reasons why the experience was bad:
    1. Late extra bed delivery: We requested for an extra bed but we had to keep checking with the reservation & housekeeping teams on where the bed was and the bed was only delivered at night. There was some miscommunication internally where the staff thought we wanted an extra blanket when we asked and already paid for the bed.
    2. Extra bed with bed bugs: My mom who slept on the extra bed woke up to severe bed bug bites and we raised this to the receptionist. The hygiene level is really questionable.
    3. Poor service attitude: I was claiming for my welcome drink at the Ombak restaurant and requested for watermelon juice. Initially, the server did not want to serve me the drink and the reason was “we are all very busy and we have no time to make the fruit juice for you.” Perhaps my frustration was reflected in my facial expressions, the server made me the juices in the end. But that kind of attitude was unacceptable. If the restaurant is unable to provide fresh juice, please do not make it available in the first place!!!

    Understand that the room rate was cheap but does this mean that the service has to be cheap too?!
