We really enjoyed our stay here and the location is between Gurney and George Town. Lots in the area, including local street food and a park. The gym was good enough, did lack some equipment.
The room was spacious and the shower was amazing. Mini bar was free and the breakfast had a good range of food. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only minor issue was, there were not enough spaces for everyone during breakfast, so there was a waiting time.

There is too little shade available and the parasols are too heavy to move which makes it uncomfortable to spend some time near the pool. There is also a lovely looking jacuzzi bed like feature, but the pool is cold and sadly makes it uncomfortable.

My sister and I had a wonderful breakfast this morning at the Marriott Hotel Gurney. We are greeted with a large smile by a cheerful waiter named Wahyu, who offers to bring us coffee. Later, another waitress offers to serve us fruit juice because our table is pretty far from the juice bar, which is an unusual experience for us in buffet style breakfast. The breakfast has large variety of foods, includes blueberries that I enjoy, and the omelette is perfectly cooked by a young and polite chef 🙂 furthermore, few other staff wishes my sister after they it’s her birthday today and gave some pastries to bring home, thanks! We Will surely visit again and recommend this hotel to our friends.

A special highlight was the bar — the bartender was incredibly friendly and even customized a few mocktail for us that tasted out of this world! We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast spread was great. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Penang!
