I recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. The hotel itself has a beautiful, luxurious design, and the lobby makes a fantastic first impression with its elegant decor. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful city view. The bed was very cozy, and the bathroom was spotless, stocked with high-quality toiletries.
The staff was generally friendly and attentive. Check-in and check-out were quick, and the concierge was helpful with local recommendations. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of options, from fresh fruit to made-to-order omelets, catering to many tastes.
However, I did experience a few issues that took away from the stay. The elevators were very slow, which was frustrating, especially during busy check out hours. I found myself waiting several minutes just to get down to the lobby. On top of that, breakfast was a bit chaotic. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes to be seated one morning, which wasn’t ideal when I had plans.
Overall, this hotel has potential, but the slow elevators and breakfast seating delays made it feel less organized than I expected for a hotel at this level. I’d consider staying again but would request a late check out to solve this problem and hope these issues are improve. Thanks.
Pros:
– Spacious room
– balcony with nice view
– really reasonable breakfast spread, open until 12pm so you can actually eat an early lunch there
– well equipped gym, tennis court and half basketball court
– part of a mall with a few handy shops/eateries
– nice view from 30th fl sky terrace
Cons:
– reception is not really friendly or helpful
– housekeeping left much to be desired – one pillowcase had a pen mark. one had a shoe print. second day they didn’t give any more toilet roll leaving us insufficient. bathtub was unusably filthy with nasty soap scum. housekeeping also never checked the safe before we checked in so we wasted an hour after planning to go out waiting for maintenance to come change the batteries.
– key cards stopped working on second day and had to be reset
– only given 2 bath towels and a floor mat, no hand towels for drying hands
– no furniture on balcony to sit and enjoy the view
– far away from Jonker and the historic area
Amazing place to stay in Melaka. Highly recommended!
Beautiful room, beautiful view and the staff were amazing and so kind and helpful, as well as the location being much more central than I had realised, with so many places an easy walk from the hotel.
We enjoyed every moment and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.
We will surely be recommending this place to our friends and family, and are already looking forward to our next visit!
This was my third visit to this hotel. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, which I really appreciate. However, I encountered a few issues during my stay. The water heater wasn’t working initially, but they did send a technician promptly to fix it.
One of my concerns was with the housekeeping service. When I requested for the room to be made up, I noticed that they reused the old bed sheets and blanket rather than providing fresh ones, which was disappointing.
Additionally, the service at the reception could be improved. Unlike other hotels where the staff are warm and welcoming, the reception here felt somewhat unfriendly and less attentive to guests’ needs.
Overall, it’s a decent hotel with good rooms, but there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of service quality.
Other the located near the buzz of the city, the hotel offers nothing but disappointment. Very dated rooms and probably upkeep. Mouldy headboard.
The room does offer a balcony with view. But i would trade that for a shower that doesn’t get flooded and a room with no mould.
Service is bad too. I requested for extra towels, the housekeeping allow only 1 extra towel per night stay. So be prepared to reuse your towels.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.
