One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had so far in Malaysia. The staff are extra friendly and helpful. I am taking the time to purposely write this review because myself and my family are very happy with our time there. The rooms are immaculately planned out with all amenities available – pillow selection, full range of toiletries, very clean and smells great, TV both in living room and the bedroom, sofa bed, dining table and you can even request for cutlery and dining ware and dish cleaning soap. There is also a coffee machine and microwave oven, and there is water dispenser outside at each floor, enabling you to easily refill your own water bottles, and the glass bottle that they provide in the room. The pool and view is awesome, the gym has quite good equipment as well (albeit only one item each, so if you happen to go at peak hours, might not have what you want to use, but while I was there, the gym was relatively empty). Oh and not forgetting the great parking experience, with the mechanical lift parking system – love it, so simple and easy and no need to worry about tight spaces in Georgetown area where that is usually the main challenge due to the older buildings. I can’t wait to return again and have made my next booking. Thank you staff at Granite! Hope the service level remains consistent for years to come and you’ve got a returning customer in me.
I booked the Safari Suite, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the entrance to the intricate details in the room, everything was impressive. However, none of this would have mattered if the service hadn’t matched the quality of the accommodations. Granite Luxury Hotel certainly did not disappoint, offering top-class service. I want to give a special mention to Rin, Joshua, Devan, and their team. Coming from a customer service background and leading a team, I prioritize excellent service, and I am extremely satisfied with my experience. I will definitely come back here again!
The good:
1) The hotel is located in a very central place with a lot of good food, a mall, and shops.
2) The car lift is one of a kind and amazing.
3) Infinity pool with the clear glass bottom is nice.
4) Customer service overall is good (despite poor maintenance service).
5) the lobby and facade looks great.
The bad:
1) The deluxe suite that we got is in the older block and has quite a few maintenance issues such as:
– light switch button came off when pressed.
– the bathroom had a flickering light.
– the ceiling of the bedroom had some water damage and wall chips.
– bed headboard is peeling off (which I thought initially was dust and upon closer inspection realised the material was starting to peel off)
– paintings have bubble warp in them and do not look professional.
– light switch mounted in the walls crooked.
2) My biggest complaint is that in the morning I noticed my bathroom light above the toilet bowl was flickering. I called to report this. When I got back in the afternoon, I noticed it had not been fixed and the flickering was even worse. When I reported it the second time around, the receptionist told me that maintenance came by and found nothing wrong. So I filmed it to show them proof. Then when I got back at 11pm at night for the third time, the light was flickering even worse and I was quite annoyed that I had to report this a THIRD time and wait for them to fix it in the middle of the night. What frustrated me further was they said maintenance came twice before and found no flickering light. Then when the third person came, he proceeded to change the wrong light above the sink which was clearly working fine without looking up to check which light was flickering. This was despite me telling them twice specifically that the light was situated above the toilet bowl. This was quite a frustrating experience for me.
When we asked to change rooms they said there were none available. Paying more than RM500 a night I expected better quality. So a bit disappointed overall.
We very much enjoyed our stay in the 1 bedroom suite. It was modern and spacious. Our Housekeeping Ambassador Harun looked after all our needs providing us exceptional service. We very much looked forward to seeing his smiling face every day.
The location was excellent and close to many amenities. Old Town was walking distance. The staff at the Granite were all very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying here.
Rooms very romantic very suitable for couples. Front desk service was great. The location is directly opposite Komtar Tower.
Lobby very welcoming. The infinity pool with a view of Komtar. Gym was just good.
Safety is awesome, 12am – 6am, guests are required to use the room access card to enter the building. Front desk was strict with that. I left my card, told I stay here, they told nicely to call the other person to bring me up instead letting me in.
