We stayed in the Superior Family Suite, perfect for our group of 3 adults and 2 kids. The room was spacious and equipped with all the essential amenities. The bathroom featured a non-slip floor, which was slightly textured for safety. The building itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the hotel offers outdoor parking. A simple buffet breakfast was included with our stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Jonker Street, making it very convenient for exploring the area.
The room is very big (a double + 1 single bed) good for 3 persons. However, the condition of the room is very bad. Need a lot of improvement. Especially the bathroom. No Hot water, Shower head cannot stands still and leaking, Water pressure is very low, The glass is very very dirty has a lot of black spot.
The only good about this hotel is the outlooks of the building are very nice due to the heritage design and the staffs are friendly.
The location is good, 10mins walk to Jonker streets.
In summary, I will not recommend my friend.
We stayed here for 2 nights in November.
The hotel was nice and the staff were pleasant, however the hotel is a bit basic with the beds being a bit uncomfortable. Thr location is really good just a short walk away from all the local attractions and the river.
If you want a standard 3 star hotel in a good location in Malacca I would recommend the hotel.
As many other reviews have mentioned :
The Bad:
1. Smell. There’s a bad drain smell in the room and we weren’t able to switch rooms due to peak season. Pillows also affected by the mouldy smell. You can see water damage in the room walls and ceiling. This is the biggest pain point IMO.
2. Service – staff don’t say hi hello or even pretend to be interested in you when you enter the LOBBY. Now I don’t expect much since this isn’t a 5 star hotel, but still… a little human interaction goes a long way.
3. Water temperature. The hotel must be using some centralised water tank to store hot water and if you shower at night after everyone else, there’s no hot water left for you. I think this is a bare minimum requirement for a hotel that I pay money for???
4. Amenities. Hair dryer is really slow and not hot enough. Should have packed my own!
The good:
1. Location. Just a stone’s throw away from the Stadhuys. I would say it’s quite a central location.
2. Parking. Free gated parking for hotel guests. Not shaded but that’s okay.
Value for money. Great location. Just 3 minutes walk to Jonker Street a and also the river. Plenty of parking for in house guests. Located at mini Indian street in Malacca. Facilities are well equipped. Love this hotel. Will definitely stay here for my next visit.
