According to Zaobao, the actor owns five coffee shops across Hong Kong, all situated in prime locations. However, various factors have led to a recent drop in revenue. A source revealed: “Most of his investments have not yielded good results. Business has been sluggish, and rental prices remain extremely high.”

To keep the business afloat, Chan has been working tirelessly, often with little time to reflect on his birthday on April 16. Driven by his passion for coffee, he has been putting in long hours to try and reverse the downturn.

“The market has been less appealing recently, so of course, the revenue is not as high as before,” Chan admitted.

A close friend of Chan shared that he carries the financial responsibility for his family, as his wife, Miss Hong Kong 2006 Aimee Chan, focuses on their three children’s education and managing household duties. Their children attend international schools, and the family employs a domestic helper.

Chan’s challenges have sparked widespread discussion on social media. Many netizens expressed sympathy for the actor, acknowledging the difficult economic conditions.

“Life is not easy for anyone,” one fan commented.

“International school tuition is so high, enrolling the kids in public schools might be easier,” another suggested.

“I like Moses Chan, so I often visit his coffee shop. The drinks are good,” one fan added.

Chan, 44, is a prominent TVB actor, best known for his roles in “Heart of Greed” and “Moonlight Resonance.” He won Best Actor at the 2023 TVB Anniversary Awards for his role in “Narcotics Heroes.” Reportedly TVB’s highest-paid actor, Chan earns HK$30 million (US$3.8 million) annually.

Aimee Chan, also 44, gained fame after winning Miss Hong Kong in 2006 and later joining TVB, where she starred in hit series like “Burning Flame III” and “E.U..” She took a break from acting in 2014 to focus on her family life.

The couple, who married in 2013 after publicly announcing their relationship in 2011, have three children—a son and two daughters.
