  1. Stunning hill with a view in the morning. It will be better when looking at sunrise, you can view a large landscape of Georgetown and Butterworth from up here.

I ride a train around 7.30 as it’s getting crowded and still get a good picture of the landscape. Also, it’s a good track to walk in the morning.

  2. It’s a great place to visit.

We bought a normal return ticket for RM16 and queued for less than 20 minutes to get to the train.

We had lunch at David Brown, the highest restaurant in Penang. The food was delicious and the view was spectacular.

Although it was hot, we were happy and the sunny weather was perfect for taking photos.

  3. A stunning hill resort just 9km from George Town. A funicular train takes you up the hill which is a unique experience in itself. Tickets are required for the train and there may be a short wait (10-20 minutes) but the ride is worth it. You can park your car (parking is available) and then take the train up the hill.

Once at the top, breathtaking views await you. The panoramic view of Penang Island, stretching out toward the sea makes it a perfect spot if you like nature. There is a mosque and a temple at the top as well.

  4. The best place in the whole island! It’s quite fun to get up the hill by some kind of train, and then u get amazing view from the top, you can see all island, the one part inhabit and you see all memorable places, so I suggest to get around the island before going to hill, so you be able to recognize places like old town, Gurney bay etc. the other side is wild and you can see perfect views of untouch nature. Be ready to spend a couple hours here

  5. What a trip I tell ya! The funicular was fast and fun…. Once you got in it! Please please please buy the express pass! Do not by any means not get the express pass. You will need that to get back down and not wait forever. Up top was amazing!! Highly recommend!! A very beautiful place that blended culture and nature. A once in a lifetime experience. Do it… but get the express pass.
