Really pretty, quiet beach just half an hour away from George Town.
Don’t believe the reviews saying it’s dirty or unpleasant, there are a few leaves but that just means you have trees for shade.
Great place to while away an afternoon.
Needs a serious clean up. We witnessed foul water (from nearby hotels and town) flowing into the sea. Tonnes of plastic dumped into the environment from the nearby town. This area could be a paradise but is desperately neglected.
A drive towards the Batu Ferringhi, Teluk Bahang beach and onwards to the water dam was amazing.
There are few amazing hotels plus high rise housing as we made our way there.
We stopped at the Hardrock hotel for a break before proceeding towards the Dam.
People seen strolling along the walking path and admiring the beauties – mountain in the background, fresh water dam on the front and sea beaches ahead.
That was good fengshui indeed.
The fine weather and scenery are excellent for photography.
The beach scenery is excellent with fine white sand and lots of sea breeze good for sea lovers.
Restaurants beside the main road are open serving local delicacies and shops selling beach costumes tempted us to stop by and shop for some souveniers.
We are planning for another trip soon staying at one of the beach hotels.
Local residents humbly advised us to reserve the hotel room in advance and there’s peak and low seasons.
There are express buses from the mainland to the island and transport is relatively convenient.
Overall a nice place to spend some nice, relaxing time with family, friends or even alone. Friendly food seller.
But beach and sea aren’t always very clean. Last time it didn’t look clean and safe enough for swimming, but we had still a great time
Decent beach with boat rides, parasailing, horse rides and some food stalls. The beach is about 1km long with a fishing village on one end and a rocky outcrop on the other. In the middle is the 5-star Angsana Beach Resort.
High tide sometimes brings along a fishy smell though it’s bearable.
The shore level falls deep after about 4-6 meters from the water-line (depending on tide) so it’s not very safe for non-swimmers and young children. I have not seen a life guard here. Having said that, there are still lots of families with children who swim here.
Good for a walk along the beach. Good for photography especially when the sun is low on the horizon.
This is a public-access beach. Parking is available on a sand and gravel lot next to the Resort at RM5 per entry on weekends and holidays, free on weekdays.
